Age is not a limit to life
Age is not a limit to life! The 96-year-old cardiologist shares his secret to longevity and good health.
The famous cardiologist, Jason Dixon, retired at the age of 70 even though his body and heart were still young and healthy. It's already 26 years since he retired and insurance companies are hating him already! Now he's 96 and still feels 55.
Doctor Dixon states that the secret to his longevity is in maintaining healthy and clean blood vessels. If your vessels are clean and healthy, you can live for 110 years more, feeling absolutely healthy.
Cardiologists also confirm this. Our columnist arranged an interview with Dr. Jason Dixon to find out how he maintains healthy and clean blood vessels, thereby extending his life.
Dr. Jason Dixon
- Dr. Dixon, you said clean blood vessels are the key to good health. Why?
- It’s very simple. Activity of organs and systems in the body depends on the quality of blood circulation. The circulatory system delivers nutrients and oxygen to all organs in the body and removes carbon dioxide and metabolic products from the blood. At a young age, we move a lot and our blood vessels are fresh, elastic and clean, so our bodies receive plenty of nutrients. As we age, we tend to move less and blood vessels start getting clogged. It is caused by many different reasons adverse factors (such as smoking, unhealthy eating, poor environment, sedentary lifestyle) and also due to nature (lipid deposition, aging processes taking place in all organisms).
What does 'dirty' blood vessel mean? Imagine some pipes full of rust that happen? The water pressure increases, and the water tastes so good. The same thing happens with blood vessels. When cholesterol or other substances build up on the inner lining of blood vessels, the pressure increases ( Impaired blood vessel function is the main cause of hypertension! ), eventually, the blood blends with impurities and the blood circulation becomes deranged. As a result, all organs and systems of the body get affected, including the skin.
If you are careful and keep your blood vessels clean, you can live for at least 110 years and your body will be working smoothly without any pain in your organs or joints. In other words, cleaning your blood vessels can prolong lifespan and improve your health. This is no longer a hypothesis, it’s a tested method. I have recommended this method to my patients and I practice it too. Everyone who follows my advice has very high chances of outliving their peers.
This is how the blood vessels gradually become dirty If you're over 40 but have never cleaned your blood vessels, then your blood vessels are definitely full of impurities. This could have already affected your health or maybe the process is just about to start.
- Why are dirty vessels dangerous?
- As I said, the entire body gets affected, starting with organs and systems that are directly linked to blood circulation - the cardiovascular system.
Impurities from blood vessels may cause the following diseases:
Ischemic heart disease
This disease is caused by frequent anemia in coronary arteries, which is caused by impurities in the blood vessels.
Atherosclerosis
Blood vessels no longer work smoothly: small blood vessels are completely blocked and the main blood vessels are clogged by bad cholesterol.
Stroke
Anemia to the brain tissue causes nerve end points to stop working, leading to loss of function.
Hypertension
Impurities from blood vessels cause vascular narrowing and hypertension.
Varicose veins
They appear inside the body, not just on the legs (which is alarming for women). Hemorrhoids are the result of varicose veins.
Venous and arterial thrombosis
Deposition of impurities in the blood vessels forms thrombus and causes blood vessels to fail, which can cause a group of cells to die. If the thrombus is not aligned and enters the bloodstream, it is possible to block the blood vessels in the heart, which in 75% of cases will cause death of the patient.
Here are some examples of what happens due to dirty vessels even at the age of 40, not to mention older people
This is very common. Doctors are well aware of this, and they know that it's necessary to clean blood vessels. However, the healthcare industry neglects it for some reason. Majority of doctors prescribe pills to lower blood pressure to patients who suffer from high blood pressure. However, this is not a cure, just a temporary treatment. It is absolutely necessary to clean blood vessels, it's practiced by people over 35-37 for more than half of a century. Every patient is aware of the importance of cleaning blood vessels. I always wonder why we do not apply this method in our country.
- Are there any symptoms that help to recognize the presence of build-up in blood vessels?
- Yes, of course. The main symptoms are:
Migraine
Memory decline
Chronic fatigue
Insomnia
Problems in sex
Vision and hearing disorders
High blood pressure
Respiratory failure and angina
Pale foot skin
Pain in muscles and joints
Whether or not you have one of these symptoms, you need to clean your blood vessels at least once in 2 years after you have turned 35. Certainly, it will keep you in good health for a very long time.
Impurities tend to build up in blood vessels, especially in the elderly. To have healthy vessels, avoid foods rich in cholesterol because it builds up on the walls of your arteries over time.
- Please share your secret to maintaining clean blood vessels.
Proper nutrition is the basis of a healthy lifestyle. At the same time, doctors note that recently there have been more and more deaths associated with chronic cardiovascular diseases.
And the precursor for them is atherosclerosis – the formation of cholesterol and atherosclerotic plaques and blood clots on the walls of blood vessels. All this develops just against the background of improper nutrition and the predominance of animal fats and protein foods in the diet.
However, studies confirm that nutrition can significantly reduce the risk of developing atherosclerosis and other cardiovascular diseases.
Scientists claim that there are products that help to clean blood vessels, thin the blood and maintain the entire circulatory system in a healthy state. What are these products? All the answers are in our article.

General recommendations
The main principle of a healthy diet is balance. Food that contains animal fats and cholesterol must be present in the diet of a child or an adult. Fatty acids are a source of energy, cholesterol is an integral part of cells, and bile is also produced from it.
But any products should not be in excess. Moreover, the human body is designed in such a way that the basis of its diet should be plant food. From it, a person receives vitamins, minerals, fiber, and vegetable oils, which are directly and indirectly involved in all biochemical processes (including the absorption of fatty acids, the same cholesterol).
Is it really possible to clean the arteries and blood vessels with the help of special nutrition? Doctors say that it is possible to get rid of the formed atherosclerotic plaques only by mechanical means – with the help of a surgical operation. But it is really possible to break down excess cholesterol in the blood. To do this, it is enough to observe the correct biochemical balance of the composition of blood and lymph.
And cholesterol is quite easily broken down with the help of vitamin C, tocopherol, potassium compounds. More precisely, the process of its cleavage, which occurs in the liver, is stimulated.
The procedure for cleaning blood vessels will bring proper benefits if the liver regularly performs its main function – blood filtration.
What kind of products that clean the arteries should be consumed? We have divided the food into classes, each class has its own most useful products that help strengthen the vessels of the brain, arteries and veins.
1-7: Fruits and vegetables
The main benefit of vegetables and fruits for blood vessels is the presence of a large amount of vitamins, as well as fiber, which is not digested and is not absorbed by the body, but takes part in metabolism (promotes intestinal peristalsis and removes slags, dense fecal masses from it). What fruits and vegetables are rightfully considered necessary for our vessels?
1. Lemon
It is known that lemon cleanses the arteries. It is one of the largest sources of ascorbic acid (vitamin C), which is involved in the oxidation of cholesterol and stimulates its breakdown into derived elements.
Moreover, it mainly reacts with low-density cholesterol, which is commonly called "harmful".
Doctors recommend weekly consumption of at least 50 grams of lemon in fresh form (during heat treatment or, for example, adding citrus to tea, most of the ascorbic acid breaks down into derivatives).
2. Beetroot
Beetroot has an anti-cholesterol effect. This vegetable is one of the largest sources of fiber. Its frequent use in food significantly reduces the risk of developing chronic intestinal diseases.
And beetroot also helps to get rid of accumulated toxins, thereby "speeding up" the metabolism – "complex" animal fats are absorbed much more actively, cholesterol practically does not accumulate in the circulatory system.
3. Celery
Celery is good for the heart. It also contains the lion's share of fiber, and it also contains elements such as tyrosine, aspargin, carotene.
It also contains a whole combination of essential oils (which give that specific taste to the plant), which enhance the work of the endocrine system, in particular, the synthesis of enzymes.
Celery brings the most benefits to the gastrointestinal tract, and indirectly it regulates lipid metabolism.
4. Pumpkin
Nutritionists claim that pumpkin is one of the best sources of "simple" carbohydrates, which are absorbed by the body after 30 to 50 minutes after consumption.
But pumpkin seeds are no less useful, which contain a fairly large amount of essential oil – it acts as an irritant on the entire digestive system and increases peristalsis.
And pumpkin oil contains a considerable amount of unsaturated fatty acids – the best option for those who are overweight.
5. Onion
Although the onion is not sour, it contains only slightly less ascorbic acid than in lemon and other citrus fruits. In addition – it contains a combination of rare essential oils that stimulate the production of enzymes.
About the effect of onions on the cardiovascular system, see a separate article.
They also act as a bactericidal agent, reducing the likelihood of developing infectious diseases.
Doctors also say that the daily use of red onions (it contains a large amount of iodine) significantly reduces the likelihood of developing diseases of the pancreas and gallbladder – these organs are one of the most important in the entire digestive system.
6. Ginger
It is also rich in vitamin C and specific essential oils.
It acts as an irritant and an antibacterial agent of prolonged action (that is, a positive effect from its use will be observed after a few weeks).
Read more about the benefits of ginger for blood vessels and the heart here.
And ginger root and tea based on it has a positive effect on the overall tone. The substances contained in it stimulate the absorption of protein and fats, thereby reducing the likelihood of the formation of atherosclerotic plaques. With caution, it should be used by those who have problems in the work of the reproductive system (in particular, the prostate gland).
7. Horseradish
Most of the horseradish root, which is just used in cooking, is occupied by fiber and essential oils with a powerful antibacterial effect.
Daily consumption of horseradish reduces the likelihood of developing chronic diseases of the cardiovascular system by almost 10 times. It also helps to normalize the pressure of hyper-and hypotonic patients. Horseradish is also a product that reduces sugar levels, dilutes blood and reduces hemoglobin.
8-10: Berries
The berries necessary for the vessels are quite similar in their composition to ordinary fruits, but they have several significant advantages:
high content of "complex" glucose (therefore, they can be included in the diet for diabetes mellitus);
the presence of fatty oils in the composition (which can replace animal fats);
a wide combination of vitamins (in the same rowan there are more than 10 of them).
8. Viburnum
In addition to vitamin C and B-group vitamins, it contains phytosterols – a class of substances of plant origin that act as mediators on the human body. That is, they provoke various kinds of biochemical processes.
Phytosterols, which are present in viburnum, accelerate the absorption of vitamin E, which is just necessary for normal hematopoiesis.
Also, viburnum helps to remove accumulated toxins from the blood. Moreover, it is better to use it in dried form.
9. Cranberries
Cranberries contain a huge amount of vitamin C, so it is almost impossible to use them fresh. But it is an excellent preservative.
And cranberry tincture with garlic and lemon helps to make the vessels more elastic – in this case, cholesterol is practically not deposited on them even in old age.
Slightly cranberry helps to slightly dissolve atherosclerotic plaques, accelerating the breakdown of lipids. But it will still not be possible to completely get rid of them.
10. Mountain ash
It is for the purification of blood vessels that black mountain ash is more suitable. Its key benefit is to reduce the level of low-density cholesterol and increase the synthesis of red blood cells (red blood cells).
Only it should be borne in mind that in excess of mountain ash can do harm. Most often it ends with gastritis or a stomach ulcer.
10: Garlic
Garlic contains essential oils and phytoncides that optimize the work of the entire digestive tract, and also accelerate the breakdown of lipids, cholesterol.
Garlic also removes toxins from the blood, prevents their accumulation in infectious diseases (many viruses and bacteria in the process of vital activity literally poison the body). There are a lot of recipes based on garlic, which can be identified as the most effective for cleansing the body:
Tibetan recipe for garlic tincture. It is believed that this tool will help to increase the average life span up to 100 years. And this is explained precisely by its positive effect on the cardiovascular system. Such a tincture can be used both for the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis.
Tincture of garlic on red wine. It has a positive effect on hematopoiesis. It will be especially useful for hypertension and obesity, when the red spongy substance produces significantly less red blood cells (which often leads to oxygen starvation of the brain and other organs).
